Alpha Prime is where a Qualified Account record becomes a professional trading career. Selected traders move from simulated performance fees to real capital allocation, a salary structure, and an institutional desk, with the evaluation rulebook replaced by a professional one.
Alpha Capital evaluations and Qualified Accounts use simulated funds. Alpha Prime is the only tier in the Alpha Group where you are trading actual funds. You cannot buy a seat. We review traders who have already been consistent on a Qualified Account with Alpha Capital or Alpha Futures.
This guide is the Alpha Capital version of that path. If you only need the short group overview, Alpha Futures already published What is Alpha Prime? (2026).
The Alpha Prime path
Alpha Capital evaluation → Qualified Account → consistency (around $40,000 profit or five performance fees) → Alpha Prime review
Moving to Alpha Prime also means a platform change. Alpha Capital evaluations run on MT5, cTrader, and DXTrade. Alpha Prime uses CQG, AgenaTrader, and Alpha Trader. Your evaluation login does not become your Alpha Prime login.
The path from an Alpha Capital evaluation
- You take an Alpha Capital evaluation on forex and CFDs
- You pass and trade a Qualified Account
- You request performance fees under published rules and stay consistent
- We review you for Alpha Prime
- If you are selected, your simulated Alpha Capital accounts close and you continue under Alpha Prime rules
The most common concern at this stage is income continuity. When you move to Alpha Prime, your Alpha Capital Qualified Accounts close and your performance fee requests from those accounts stop. That does not mean income disappears. Alpha Prime replaces that model with a salary structure plus a performance split. The terms are in Is there a salary? below.
There is no application form and no checkout button for Alpha Prime. The record on the Qualified Account is what we look at.

Why we built Alpha Prime
George Kohler founded Alpha Capital in 2021. We launched Alpha Prime in 2025 because a strong Qualified Account should lead somewhere more serious than a larger version of the same evaluation.
Alpha Capital and Alpha Futures stay the evaluation brands. Alpha Prime sits above both. On a Qualified Account, you prove your edge in a simulated environment. Alpha Prime is where that edge gets allocated real capital, a professional desk, and an income structure that reflects career-level performance, not just monthly simulation results.
The desk is at Tower 42, 25 Old Broad Street, in the City of London. James Sullivan, Head of Alpha Prime, has more than 30 years in exchange-traded markets, including time on the old LIFFE floor.
The public site is alphaprimemarkets.com.
How we review Alpha Capital traders
We review a verified Qualified Account record with Alpha Capital or Alpha Futures. You may be considered after:
- Around $40,000 profit on a single simulated performance fee
- Five performance fees from a single Qualified Account
- Around $100,000 in lifetime performance fees with Alpha Capital Group
- Early selection by our team for exceptional performance
Numbers and terms can be updated. Check out Alpha Prime help article for more information.
What the Alpha Prime desk is like
Selected traders get one-to-one mentorship, on site or remote, covering process, risk, and decision-making. We also run weekly strategy meetings on market outlook, the economic calendar, and how the desk wants to trade that week. Attendance is part of the job.
Risk is handled as a desk, not as a solo evaluation. The starting structure is a $10,000 static drawdown account, with scaling. Alpha Prime accounts use a static, non-trailing drawdown and a 30% daily loss limit. You also get a trader portal so you can see your own numbers.
Account size scales with consistency. Larger allocations follow a record, not a request.
The floor is in London. You can visit. You can relocate if you want to work on site. You can also stay remote and still take mentorship. Moving to London is an option, not a requirement.
Alpha Prime is multi-asset: FX, equity index futures, commodities, and rates, through our clearing and broker relationships.

FAQs
Can I buy Alpha Prime?
No. Alpha Prime cannot be purchased directly. Access is granted through performance reviews on an Alpha Capital or Alpha Futures Qualified Account.
Is Alpha Prime the same as Alpha Capital?
No. Alpha Capital is our forex and CFD evaluation brand using simulated funds. Alpha Prime is our professional trading desk based in London for proven traders.
How do I get into Alpha Prime from Alpha Capital?
Pass an Alpha Capital evaluation, stay consistent on your Qualified Account, and hit key performance benchmarks, such as around $40,000 profit on a single simulated performance fee or five performance fees from a single Qualified Account, to trigger a review. Early selection by our team is also possible.
Is Alpha Prime for beginners?
No. Alpha Prime is for traders who have already been consistent on a Qualified Account.
Do I have to move to London?
No. Mentorship can be remote. Relocation is available if you want to work on site at Tower 42.
What if you mainly trade forex?
You can still be considered. Forex on Alpha Capital is a normal starting path. Alpha Prime then covers a wider set of markets than a typical Alpha Capital evaluation, with mentorship, desk risk, and a different rulebook.
Will I lose my performance fee income when my Alpha Capital accounts close?
Your Alpha Capital performance fee requests stop when your accounts close on selection. Yes. Alpha Prime replaces that with a salary structure and a 60% performance split on real capital results. See Is there a salary? for how that income model works.
Is there a salary?
Alpha Prime includes a salary structure for selected traders: a monthly base that replaces the variable performance fee income from your Qualified Account. On top of that, Alpha Prime uses a 60% performance split on eligible results from real capital. The combination gives you a consistent monthly base plus performance upside, a more stable income structure than performance fees alone. Current figures are in the Alpha Prime help article, as terms can change.
If you are still on an Alpha Capital evaluation
Do the work in front of you. Choose an Alpha Capital programme that matches how you trade, pass it under published rules, request performance fees on a Qualified Account, and stay consistent. That record is what we review.
