Alpha Capital Evaluation Fee and Refund Policy Explained

Is the Alpha Capital evaluation fee refunded? Official return policy, what happens if you fail, and how performance fees work after you qualify.

Before you checkout, most traders want the same two answers: What am I paying for? and Can I get my money back if things do not go to plan?

This page answers both, plainly, with links to the official sources. Programme rules (drawdown, daily loss, holds) live on Alpha Capital rules explained.

General information only. Simulated accounts, simulated funds. Performance fees are performance-based; outcomes not guaranteed.

What your evaluation fee pays for

When you purchase an Alpha Capital evaluation, the fee typically covers:

  • A simulated account at the balance you selected
  • Published profit targets, drawdown, and daily loss rules
  • Platform access and help-centre support
  • A path to qualification if you meet the objectives, with up to 80% of eligible simulated profits paid to you as performance fees on published programmes (product page)

Your direct financial exposure on standard programmes is usually the evaluation fee itself, you are trading simulated funds, not depositing the full account size.

The return policy

Alpha Capital publishes its refund terms here: alphacapitalgroup.uk/return-policy

The core line:

"All sales are final and no refund will be issued."

What that means in practice:

  • If you pass, you move forward on the qualification path. You do not receive a separate "refund" of the fee, but you can request performance fees on eligible simulated profits once you are on a Qualified Account (see below).
  • If you do not pass, the evaluation fee is not returned. You can start a new evaluation at the price on the product page whenever you are ready to try again.
  • If you change your mind after purchase, the same policy applies, so it is worth reading the rules before you buy.

We publish this upfront so there are no surprises later.

How this compares to other prop firms

Some firms use for example - return the evaluation fee when you take your first eligible payout after qualifying. That model works well if fee-back on day one is your priority.

Alpha Capital uses a different structure: the evaluation fee is a one-time purchase, and traders who qualify earn through performance fees on simulated profits instead of an automatic fee credit on the return policy.

Neither approach is "better" for everyone, it depends whether you value fee return on first payout or programme choice (Alpha One, Pro, Swing, Three), static drawdown options, and UK-based pricing. Compare live terms on each firm's site before you decide.

After you qualify - performance fees

Passing the evaluation opens the Qualified Account stage. From there, you may request performance fees on eligible simulated profits according to your programme and the schedule you chose at checkout.

Up to 80% to the trader is stated on the product page for published programmes.

Two common schedules (help centre overview):

Schedule

In brief

Bi-weekly

A regular rhythm on eligible programmes - details

On-demand

Request when you meet eligibility - details

On-demand routes may include rules like the 40% Best Day guideline and minimum profit thresholds. Check your programme on the help centre so you know what to expect.

Simple illustration (hypothetical - not a promise):

  • Evaluation fee: $297 (Alpha One $50K, per product page)
  • Eligible simulated profit: $2,000
  • At 80%: $1,600 to you

Many traders treat the evaluation fee as part of the journey, some pass on the first attempt, others learn the rules and come back for a second run. Both paths are normal in prop trading.

Starting prices (confirm at checkout)

Fees vary by programme and account size. The product page FAQ notes evaluations from $50 on the entry Alpha One tier. Example: Alpha One $50K is listed at $297.

Promotions change the checkout price, always confirm the final amount before you pay.

Quick answers

Can I get a refund if I breach the evaluation?
The return policy does not offer refunds on completed purchases. If you breach, you can purchase a new evaluation when you are ready. Reading the rules first saves most avoidable breaches.

What if I paid but have not received credentials?
Card payments are usually instant. Crypto or PayPal can take up to 24 hours (help article). Contact support, that is a delivery issue, not the same as a trading refund.

Is the evaluation fee returned when I pass?
Not as a refund on the return policy. After you qualify, performance fees are how traders earn from simulated profits, separate from getting the original purchase credited back.

Before you buy - 30 seconds well spent

  1. Skim the return policy
  2. Pick the right programme on help.alphacapitalgroup.uk
  3. Note bi-weekly vs on-demand at checkout if your plan offers a choice
  4. Confirm the price on product page
